A space for all of you
Are you looking for:
A place to connect more deeply with yourself?
Somewhere to make sense of life through the lens of your own personal worldview or spirituality, free from judgement?
Or simply the kind and listening ear of a fellow-traveller on life’s journey?
Then spiritual counselling may be for you!
Spiritual counselling is simply a form of one-to-one work – not dissimilar to coaching.
We’ll spend an hour at a time together over Zoom (or in-person outside somewhere in South London where possible and preferred) exploring what is alive for you in that moment. You’ll be listened to with deep, compassionate attention.
Every session is held with a shared understanding that you are, at your core, perfect the way you are, and that our work together is supported by something bigger than us – be that the natural world, your personal values, or the Sacred, if that language works for you.
What spiritual accompaniment isn’t
Spiritual accompaniment has similarities to counselling in that you are being held and listened to in a non-judgemental space, where you will be supported to find your own answers to life’s challenges.
However, spiritual accompaniment is not a form of therapy.
Those in need of urgent or profound therapeutic support should seek a therapist or counsellor with the appropriate training.
How much does spiritual accompaniment cost?
Each session with me is £45, to be paid on the day.

The best way to explore spiritual accompaniment is to experience it!

Spiritual counselling (also sometimes called spiritual direction, spiritual accompaniment or spiritual coaching) is a gentle but powerful form of deep listening. It is based on the fundamental belief that we are both whole; the purpose is not to ‘fix’ you or tell you what to do.
Our inquiry together is - how is your spirit (or heart, or soul - whatever you call it)? What is it seeking to explore?
Together we’ll explore your spiritual path - where you feel growth happening, what matters to you and what practices and tools could support you to explore further. I also like the term ‘spiritual accompaniment’ for this work.

A spiritual counsellor is a listener, guide and friend whose goal is to support your inquiry into your own spiritual life. It is based on the principle that we are all sovereign in our inner lives - you are you own truest teacher. A spiritual counsellor simply comes alongside you to support, encourage, strengthen and gently challenge. Because we were never meant to do this alone.
A spiritual counsellor (also sometimes called a spiritual director) is NOT a psychotherapist or mental health professional, unless they have additional relevant training in that field.

We’ll meet on Zoom for 60 minutes. We’ll open with some gentle grounding, for example I’ll guide us in some meditation. Then the floor is yours to explore, with gentle prompts from me. About ten minutes before the end I’ll let you know the time and invite you to start wrapping up your thoughts.
What is spiritual counselling?
What are your qualifications?

I am an ordained interfaith minister with OneSpirit Interfaith Foundation. I completed a two-year interfaith ministerial training, with contained a lot of rigorous training and practice in spiritual counselling. I also have a degree in Theology.
I am a member of the Register of OneSpirit Interfaith Foundation and I have Professional Liability and Malpractice Insurance. This also requires me to have regular spiritual counselling (supervision) of my own.

In my Theology degree, I studied chiefly Christianity, Hinduism and Islam. Throughout my life, I’ve explored different traditions, including during my two years on the Interfaith Ministry training, where we studied faith paths from Shamanism to Judaism to Taoism. I have a personal yoga and meditation practice, which I cherish.

Nah, that’s not language I relate to. I do believe spiritual counselling can be deeply healing - but I don’t claim to heal you in body or spirit. You do all that yourself :)
